Well, some say Facebook can be used to predict who wins Senate races in 2014 and some say “hog wash”! Others are completely tuned out and tuned into what happened during the Super Bowl, Grammy’s, and all of the other stuff.
If you’re in tune to the Data Analysis or Predictive Analytics world, you probably know that data is a key component in shaping the outcome of the 2014 Senate races. If the teams of those running in the elections have the resources and access to the subject matter experts that are data analysts and can build persuasion models like the analytics team for the Obama campaign, then they have a huge leg up on the competition.
Why? Simple, when the data models tell the grass roots people on the ground going door to door or those on the phones what voters are most likely to be persuaded to vote for their candidate, that’s powerful!
Still don’t get it, well may I suggest you obtain Eric Seigel’s book Predictive Analytics: The Power to Predict Who Will Click, Buy, Lie, or Die, and then once you get it……..turn directly to page 213 and begin reading. After that has wet your appetite for additional enlightenment, then start asking the team of people surrounding the candidate you support if they are doing anything like this.
Good Luck and Keep Learning!
